Gardenia responds to victims of typhoon Yolanda

The whole world was alarmed with the massive devastation unleashed by Super Typhoon Yolanda, the world’s strongest tropical cyclone of 2013. In most stricken parts of the Visayas region, Yolanda left thousands of casualties and destructed million amounts of establishments making it a nightmare for all Filipinos.

In response with the wrath of Super Typhoon Yolanda, Gardenia is in continuous communication with various charitable groups for donations and relief operations.

Gardenia donated more than 7,500 fresh loaves recently thru the Philippine Red Cross, ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation, GMA Kapuso Foundation and Rotary Club of Mactan in Cebu. Breads were already distributed [and some are still for distribution in] in heavily affected areas like Tacloban, Samar, Leyte, Bogo, Cebu, Isabel, Ormoc and evacuees sheltered in Navy.

Gardenia is currently coordinating with charitable groups and individuals to extend help to other damaged areas. Laguna and Cebu plants of Gardenia are now operating continuously and set at maximum production capacity to consistently serve breads to the consumers and provide bread donations for relief works.

Gardenia’s Human Resource Department (HRD) also initiates “Gardenia Calamity Donation Drive” to extensively help Pinoys in the affected areas. Employees are highly encouraged to donate assistance in form of ready-to-eat food like canned goods and noodles, water, medicines, blankets, and old but good and usable clothes. Gardenia also welcomes cash donations from employees thru salary deduction.

Let us all pray that the Filipinos will be spared from any threat of typhoons in the coming years.
