Gardenia Egg Pie-Desal

Ingredients

Gardenia Premium Pandesal
2 tbsp All purpose flour – 2 tbsp
1/4 cup Whole Milk
3/4 cup Water
1 cup White sugar
1 cup Another whole milk
6 pcs Egg Yolk
1/2 tbsp Vanilla

Procedure

Get a piece of Gardenia Premium Pandesal, cut a circle in the middle, only half way the bun. Press down the center to create a space for the filling. Toast for 3 mins then set aside.

In a bowl, mix hot water and sugar, set aside, in a separate bowl, mix flour and ¼ cup milk.

In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of whole milk, continue stirring to prevent burning the milk, when it simmer, add the sugar and water mixture.

Transfer the milk mixture into a bowl with flour mixture, whisk to prevent lumps. Cool down then whisk one egg yolk at a time.

Strain in a container, pour into the toasted pandesal.

Bake for 10 mins at 140C or until the pie is firm.

Serve while hot.
